Boston College EMS is proud to partner with EMS Academy to offer EMT-B training to Boston College students, as well as to people outside of the Boston College community.

Fall 2017 Course Information

This fall, Boston College EMS and EMS Academy are offering a 150-hour intensive course that will prepare students to take the written and practical EMT exams issued by the state of Massachusetts and the National Registry of EMTs. Students will learn all aspects of pre-hospital emergency care for injuries and illnesses within the scope of practice of an EMT-B, as well as practice patient assessments and emergency procedures. There are no course prerequisites, but students must attend all class sessions and pass written and practical exams.

BC students, please note: completion of this course does not guarantee membership in BCEMS.

Fall 2017 Session Class Dates/ Times

The class will begin Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 and will conclude on Tuesday, November 21st, 2017. Weekly meeting times for the course are as follows:
  • Sundays: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Mondays: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
  • Tuesdays: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
  • NO CLASS: October 8-9 for observance of the Columbus Day Holiday
The cost of this course is $1000, including the cost of the required textbook. Spaces in the class are limited and are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Both BC students and faculty, as well as individuals not associated with BC, are welcome to sign up, but preference will be given to those associated with BC.
